This cartoon speaks to a large audience which happens to be the nation, anyone who see’s this in a newspaper, or on the Internet. The subject is closely tied to bush and his republican party and the time in which they took over office. The speaker can be anyone who doesn’t like republicans and bush. The cartoon appeals to logo’s because bush became president in Jan. 01 hinting that since the something has gone bad. I found pathos in that the author seems to have a resentment toward republicans and even the democrates because he say, ” the lunatics have taken over the asylum” asylum probably being the white house. From the text we learn bush along with his Republicans have made some people upset. But from the visual image we learn that our country is a time bomb in the hands of these lunatics. As if the white house wasn’t a crazy place before bush came to office The author shows tries to convey message of impending doom.
